Designed to accept drills, reamers, taps, etc. with Morse taper shanks. Permits rapid interchanging of the two tools without disengaging the tapers, and without moving the cross-slide.

The socket is notched at one-inch intervals so that machining depth can be repeated accurately from piece to piece.

The gravity latch on the series 44 engages with the selected bar notch to assure accurate positioning and to prevent the bar from turning.
